Landsports
There is never a shortage of things to do outdoors in
Saint Lucia. Volleyball, basketball, and soccer games between staff and guests
are available at most hotels. Those wishing to take a bike ride can rent a bike
and see the island on two wheels. For spectators there is always a good game of
cricket, soccer, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, long distance running
race or swimming tournament happening somewhere on the
island.
Cricket
As part of its English heritage, cricket is a popular sport on the island of Saint Lucia.
The cricket season is from March to August, however friendly fete matches are arranged year round throughout the island.
Saint Lucia is also home to the World renowned Beausejour Cricket Grounds.
Soccer
or football as we call it, is played informally on the beach or more competitively on one of the many playing fields around the island.
Friendly inter-hotel football matches are often organized at the larger hotels or sometimes local teams are invited to play, perhaps for a case of Piton beer for the winning team.
Beach Volleyball
Volleyball is a popular sport and beach volleyball is fun.
Hotels located on the beach have nets set up, and getting a team together is usually no problem.
Racquet Sports
Tennis is available at most large hotels on island.
The Rex St. Lucian, Rodney Bay courts are open to the public with reservations.
The St. Lucia Raquet Club at Club St. Lucia, Cap Estate offer good facilities with 9 flood lit tennis courts and a Squash court.
The St. Lucia Yacht Club at Reduit also has two squash courts.
