Saint Lucia (November 12, 2012) – The Saint Lucia Tourist Board is unveiling a new program designed to increase visitor arrivals by enticing cruise passengers to return to the island for an extended vacation. Launching in November, the program offers cruisers incentives including discounts at participating hotels, attractions and shopping to book a vacation to Saint Lucia. 

A collaboration between the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority and the Saint Lucia Tourist Board, the first-of-its-kind initiative is designed to reach thousands of cruise passengers who visit Saint Lucia annually. “Because of the limited amount of time they are able to spend on a shore excursion, cruise passengers have a somewhat limited view of the rich experiences an extended vacation on Saint Lucia offers,” said Nerdin St. Rose, VP Marketing & Sales for the Saint Lucia Tourist Board.  “Exit surveys have shown that there is interest in returning to Saint Lucia, and we’re confident the incentives offered through this program will encourage repeat visits from this highly valued group.”

The program is centered around a promotional DVD which includes the details for redeeming the offers and will direct cruisers to a new microsite, where they will also find the opportunity to enter to win an all-inclusive vacation for two to Saint Lucia. 

Copies of the promotional DVD will be distributed to passengers at the cruise ship pier at Pointe Seraphine and La Place Carenage Duty Free Shop Complex. The DVD contains an overview of Saint Lucia, information on activities and attractions as well as the diverse collection of resorts and hotels.
