The Saint Lucia Tourist Board continues to ensure the safety and wellbeing of visitors to the island. Consequently, it sought and received an official update on the status of Zika from the Ministry of Health and Wellness. The Ministry has provided the following official update:
Saint Lucia and other countries in the Americas experienced a Zika outbreak in 2016, when the Zika virus was introduced into the country for the first time. The island is no longer experiencing an outbreak. The last confirmed case of Zika virus disease occurred in September of 2016 and there have been no reports of confirmed cases since.
The Saint Lucia Tourist Board will continue to collaborate with the Ministry of Health and Wellness in monitoring the situation and ensuring that the health and wellbeing of visitors is safeguarded.
