This year's Silver Jubilee Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival (SLJAF) takes a journey back in time to showcase again some of the event's most popular acts at locations across our beautiful island. The Festival gets off to a spirited start on April 29 and continues for 10 days through a busy line-up of community events featuring local and regional acts, all the way to the international headliners of the final three days from May 6 to 8, including nostalgic favourites like Kool & The Gang and Air Supply, singer/songwriter Shaggy, zouk sensation Kazzav' and Latin idol Marc Anthony. Jazz fans can look forward to performances by Chris Standring, Joey Alexander and Donald Harrison, while Saint Lucia's Grammy judge and internationally renowned jazz guitarist, Ronald 'Boo' Hinkson takes to the stage on May 8th.
This year's Arts element of the Festival includes a performance of Nobel Laureate Derek Walcott's epic play, Omeros, by Shakespeare's Globe Theatre on May 3rd, and the sizzling runway fashion show, Saint Lucia Hot Couture on May 4th, along with art exhibitions, dance and drama, and a special marketplace where visitors can purchase authentic pieces from local artists and manufacturers.
Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival 2016 promises to bring the 25th Anniversary party to the world as only Saint Lucia can.
