New Flights into St. Lucia

Airline Information

For visitors coming from the United States, American Airlines offers a nonstop daily service from Miami to Hewanorra. US Airways offers a winter flight every Saturday from Charlotte and one flight from Charlotte during the summer.

Delta offers daily non-stop service from Atlanta. American Eagle American Eagle offers a daily service to San Juan connecting to major international gateways.

Jet Blue commences service into Saint Lucia on Monday October 26th. The US airline will fly into the island three times weekly, i.e. Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays.

During the peak season, between mid-November and mid-March, a number of tour companies operate charters from London, Toronto, Milan and various Caribbean destinations.

A little further north, Air Canada, currently operates a service on Sundays from Toronto. This service is expected to increase to two flights as of November 7 2009, on Saturdays and Sundays. A new flight from Montreal to St Lucia will be introduced on December 21 on once a week and will operate until April 21 2010. WestJet begins a service from Toronto, Canada to St.Lucia on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from Nov 3 2009.

St. Lucia is serviced by two major airlines from the UK. British Airways offers nonstop service between Gatwick and St Lucia and also between Trinidad and St Lucia three times per week on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.Virgin Atlantic flies three times a week out of Gatwick on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

LIAT offers an extensive service for regional travel and connections to international destinations.

Air Caraibes offers a daily service between Martinique and Saint Lucia.



Airports
There are two (2) airports on the island: Hewanorra International Airport at Vieux Fort (UVF) is located 40 miles south of Castries and George F. L. Charles Airport (SLU) which adorns a pleasant coastline on the outskirts Castries.

  • 4 hours from New York
  • 5 hours from Toronto
  • 8 hours from London


Airport departure tax
Departure Tax of EC $68 (US $26) for all passengers over 12 years is applied to ticket prices at the time of purchase.

Airport Transfers
Taxis are readily available from the Hewanorra airport to Castries and the north of the island and should cost in the region of (EC $120 up to 4 persons). Public transport is an alternative, however, passengers must walk their luggage to the main road. The trip to Castries will cost approximately $8.00 EC, but it will take twice as long to get there than by taxi.
