According to requirements enacted by governments in the U.S., UK and Canada, persons returning to those countries must provide proof of a COVID-19 test with a negative result upon arrival in those countries. What if I recently recovered from COVID-19?

Proof of a negative covid-19 PCR test is required to enter Saint Lucia.There are no exceptions at this time.

What happens if I test positive?

Antigen Test with a positive result: Isolate immediately, accommodation provider should arranged for a PCR test.

Visitors who are nonsymptomatic or who have mild symptoms must remain in isolation at their accommodation for a period of ten days from the date of the positive diagnosis (Antigen and PCR).

Visitors who require medical attention must be transported by ambulance or COVID-19 approved taxi based on urgency to the Respiratory Hospital.

USA: After 10 days, an individual who is non-symptomatic may travel on a commercial airline, no additional test is required for travel. The original Antigen or PCR test will be used for travel (noting the ten days from diagnosis has elapsed). Retesting is not required. Per CDC guidelines, travelers to the US require a letter from their healthcare provider or a public health official stating that the traveler is cleared to travel.

UK: If your test result is positive, you must not travel. You must follow local rules and guidance for positive coronavirus cases. If the result is inconclusive, you must take another test. British nationals who need consular assistance should contact the nearest consulate, embassy or high commission.

How far in advance can a traveler pre-book their PCR test?

Appointments, where available should be made at least 48 hours in advance

If the visitor is traveling to a clinic or lab for testing what options for transportation are available?

Visitors are required to use certified transportation via their hotel or villa. A visitor’s accommodation provider can assist with booking a COVID-certified taxi.
