Support Saint Lucia Campaign
Dear Friend of Saint Lucia:
I hope this letter finds you safe and well, as we in Saint Lucia – along with the world – cope with the COVID-19 crisis and look toward brighter days. Typically, I would be writing to invite you spend your next vacation in Saint Lucia and most notably to enjoy our welcoming people. But very little is “typical” these days.
Today, I am reaching out to you – as a friend of Saint Lucia – to ask if you would be willing to make a donation to our SUPPORT SAINT LUCIA campaign. With your help, 100% of donated funds will directly assist our most affected citizens with food and critical supplies.
TO DONATE TODAY:
Please go to www.GoFundMe.com “Saint Lucia Frontline Workers COVID-19 Response” to make a donation in any amount.
In Saint Lucia, the majority of our citizens depend upon the economic benefit of the 400,000 visitors we welcome each year. COVID-19 has had a devastating effect on our economic stability – creating shortages and limited access to critical and life-sustaining supplies such as food and PPE (gloves, masks, gowns).
Since April 1, we have been working with local partners on sweeping measures to ensure that Saint Lucians have their basic needs met, distributing more than 10,000 emergency care packages with necessities including vegetables, fruit, hygiene items, baby supplies and non-perishables. Efforts continue daily, as volunteers carefully manage limited safety protocols while performing the urgent work needed to provide supplies to each home. But as an island community where tourism means everything, we are in crisis and we need your help.
Your donation to SUPPORT SAINT LUCIA will go directly towards on-the-ground support, funding the purchase of food and care packages for our neediest and must vulnerable residents – cab drivers, hotel workers, tour guides, boat operators, school children and the many families in need of support.
We are grateful for donations of any dollar amount. Saint Lucia remains actively committed to the health and wellness of our locals, who are eager to welcome back visitors when the time is right. We are observing strict quarantine measures and a national scale down as directed by the Ministry of Health.
Thank you in advance for your compassion and support.
We wish you strength, health and wellness.
