REVISED ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

All arriving passengers including travelers from within the Designated Travel Bubble must have a negative result from a PCR test taken no more than 7 days before arriving in  Saint Lucia.

All persons entering Saint Lucia (including persons arriving from within the “Travel Bubble”) must complete a Pre-Arrival Travel Registration Form to ensure your efficient and expedited processing on arrival. Please print and travel with a copy of your registration form. 

 

Protocols for Travel

  • All arriving passengers must have a negative result from a PCR test done no more than 7 days prior to arrival in Saint Lucia
  • All arriving passengers must adhere to all protocols relevant to airport
  • All arriving passengers will be screened, this will include temperature checks
  • All symptomatic passengers will be immediately isolated and tested. If test result is positive for COVID-19 the passenger will be transferred to the Respiratory Hospital for treatment and care at their cost.
  • Other passengers will be transferred by certified taxi to approved COVID-19 accommodation or to a government quarantine facility
  • Hotel guests travelling from outside the designated travel bubble are required to remain on property for the duration of their stay except to participate in water-based excursions arranged by the hotel.

 

Flight Crew Members

 

  • Flight crew will be screened on arrival.
  • Crew members will be exempt from testing except if symptomatic.
  • All symptomatic passengers to be isolated and tested.

  • Have confirmed reservations at a COVID-19 certified accommodation provider for the duration of their stay or
  • Have a pre-arranged stay confirmed at a Government operated quarantine facility.

If a passenger displays symptoms on arrival, where will they be isolated?

The official isolation units are located at respiratory clinics at Victoria Hospital and St. Jude’s Hospital.

If a national comes in with a negative PCR test result will they have to undergo quarantine, or will they be exempted?

Any traveller who has had a PCR test no more than 7 days prior to arrival and has proof of a negative test result must either

  • Have confirmed reservations at a COVID certified accommodation provider for the duration of their stay or
  • Have a pre-arranged stay confirmed at a Government operated quarantine facility.
Can I make reservations to stay in more than one hotel on my trip?

During Phase 1 of the responsible reopening plan, visitors must stay in just one property for the duration of their visit. Split stays in multiple properties will not be allowed, even if the properties are all COVID-19 certified.

Can I leave my COVID-Certified accommodation while I am in Saint Lucia?

You must remain at your COVID-certified accommodation for the duration of your stay in Saint Lucia unless you are on an water based excursion arranged by the hotel. You may not leave the property by vehicle or on foot during your stay.

If someone is visiting family in Saint Lucia and their place of stay would be with family what should they do?

In phase 1 of the reopening plan, ALL visitors to the island must be staying in COVID certified accommodation. Therefore, no family or friends can visit unless they are booked into, and will stay in, a COVID certified hotel.

What is a PCR test and how is it administered?

A PCR test is a type of covid-19 test and the sample is collected by a nasal swab and oral swab.

Will it hurt?

It is mildly uncomfortable but not painful.

If we test negative, can we explore the rest of the island?

In Phase 1 of the reopening plan, only a small number of tours arranged by your hotel will be available.

What do visitors need to do to confirm they are eligible for entry to Saint Lucia?
  • All passengers must have a PCR test (with a negative result) no more than 7 days prior to arrival in Saint Lucia
  • All persons entering Saint Lucia must complete an online Registration Form before arrival
  • All passengers will be screened on arrival (temperature check)
  • Passport / visa where applicable valid for the duration of their stay 
  • All travellers must wear a face mask during the flight and in the airport in Saint Lucia.
  • All travelers must continue to use face masks in public spaces in Saint Lucia where social distancing is not possible
What measures are in place to protect visitors?

From arrival into Saint Lucia, at the airport, the airport transfers (ground transportation), and the stay at the hotel – throughout the visit guests are being cared for. Public health protocols including (though not limited to) physical distancing, regular temperature checks, wearing masks and enhanced hygiene measures will be observed.

Visitors will be required to observe social distancing of six feet (2 meters). Masks will be required in public places, when within 6 feet of others and in select public spaces at hotels.

Is car hire/car rental available?

Car rental will only be available to visitors arriving from the designated travel bubble.

Do guests have to wear a mask at the resort?

Masks are required in public spaces at the resort. They are not required in restaurants once you are seated and at the pool.

Is PPE required during airport transfers and in taxis?

Yes, travelers must wear a mask on the flight, in the airport in Saint Lucia and in taxis.

If I am not booked into one of the hotels that has been identified for Phase 1 reopening can I still travel to Saint Lucia? If so will I be required to go into quarantine?

Any arrivals who are NOT booked into a certified property will be required to go into quarantine for 14 days.

If someone at the resort I am staying in tests positive for COVID-19, would everyone at the resort be quarantined for 14 days?

If you are identified as someone who has been in contact with the patient during the contact tracing process you will be required to go into quarantine for 14 days.

If a guest falls sick and they need to stay in Saint Lucia longer than the period of the reservation, who pays for the extended stay?

All visitors are responsible for costs associated with isolation and/or hospitalization.

Phased reopening - what are the dates associated with the various phases?

What can I do while I am in Saint Lucia?

A selection of water based excursions will be available through your hotel.

How safe is it to get a taxi to the accommodation provider?

Perfectly safe – all ground transportation will be provided by certified operators.

Can ground transportation be shared?

There will be a limit to the number of passengers allowed in a taxi relative to the capacity of the vehicle.

Are helicopter transfers available?

Yes, Saint Lucia Helicopters has received COVID-19 certification so helicopter transfers are available.

Is it safe for me to book a holiday to Saint Lucia later in the year?

Saint Lucia is reopening on June 4th with a phased, responsible approach so that any time a traveler arrives on the island for a holiday, there will be protocols in place that keep safety top of mind.

I have booked a holiday for July. The borders are open but the holiday won’t be the same. Can I cancel?

Each hotel and airline has specific cancellation and postponement rules, we suggest you contact your travel providers directly.

Can I spend my vacation in a private villa or home or apartment that I have rented or that I own or that is owned by a friend/family?

In phase 1 of the responsible reopening plan visitors may only stay in COVID certified accommodation. It will therefore not be possible for you to stay in a villa or in any property other than a certified hotel while you are in Saint Lucia. What is the minimum age at which a test is required for entry?

Everyone 3 years and over is required to meet the pre-travel testing requirement.

I am a Saint Lucian who lives overseas. Can I travel to stay with my family in Saint Lucia? Can I quarantine in a home that is owned by my family or friends?

In Phase 1 of the responsible reopening plan established by the Government of Saint Lucia, Saint Lucians who are visiting relatives in Saint Lucia may travel, however they will be required to spend the first 14 days of their visit in a COVID-19 certified resort.

I am a returning national/retuning resident. Can I quarantine at home? How can I apply if I think I will qualify?

All returning nationals and residents, not booked in a Covid 19 hotel must reserve space at the State operated quarantine facility. There are a few instances that home quarantine may be permitted by the medical evaluation team upon screening at the State quarantine facility. Special cases might include individuals travelling with minors, minors travelling alone or specific medical needs.
