For Saint Lucia’s visiting yachtsmen and sailing crews, here’s the navigation and clearance information you’ll need to navigate her waters:

Occasional License (Commercial Yachts)

Up to 40ft – EC$200
41- 70ft – EC$300
Over 70ft – EC$400

The annual license is granted to vessels with permission

Pratique

Under 100 GRT (at any time) – EC$10
Over 100 GRT (0800 to 1600) – EC$20
Over 100 GRT (1600 to 0800) – EC$40

Clearance

Under 40ft – EC$5
Over 40ft – EC$15

Up to 740 GRT – EC$15
51 to 4999 GRT – tonnage x EC$0.02
5000 GRT and over – EC$100

Mooring Permit

EC$25. Permission given to moor at a point, which is not a designated port of entry. It is sort from a Customs Office at the time of the request

Length Of Stay

Visitors may request up to 3 months stay. Application for extension must be made in person at the main Immigration Office in Castries and carries a fee of EC$100 per 21-day period

Clearance Requirements

  • Ship’s papers showing ownership and nature of business in which the vessel is primarily engaged
  • Clearance documentation for last port prior to Saint Lucia inclusive of: Customs Declaration:
  • Passports for all crew and passengers and any appropriate visas.

  • Customs overtime fees only apply on non-working days: Saturday and over hours on weekdays at EC$10; Sundays and holidays at EC$15. A minimum overtime fee of 3 hours at the hourly rate of the duty officer will apply
  • Customs clearance must be obtained within 24 hours of arrival in Saint Lucia. Do not leave your yacht prior to clearance

Marigot Bay

Customs & Immigration: Located in the Yacht Reception Facility in The Marina Village. Customs clearance is acceptable and they also act as a collection agency for Saint Lucia Air & Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA): Office on the Marina Docks

Customs:
Located in the Soufriere Marina Management Area (SMMA) office along the bayfront, and although manned 7 days a week, the same overtime hour fees will apply

Soufriere Marine Management Association (SMMA)

Located within customs office (0900 – 1700). They are responsible for the marine parks including moorings, anchorage (only in select areas), snorkeling and diving permits. The rangers patrol daily 0700 – 1900 (459-5500/VHF16) Email: smma@candw.lc

SMMA Mooring Fees

Up to 70ft – $EC54/USD$20 – 1 night; $EC324/USD$120 – week
More than 70ft, up to 120ft – $EC270/USD$100 – 1 night;
More than 120ft – EC$540/USD$200/Per Day
Crewed Charter  – EC$1350/USD$500/Per Annum
