JULIEN ALFRED

Hello, I’m Julien Alfred.

Thanks for joining me here. 2024 was a big year for me as I won gold in the women’s 100m at the Paris Olympics. I’ve always been so supported by my fellow Saint Lucians and now I’m proud to be a Tourism Ambassador for my country. Winning Saint Lucia’s first ever Olympic medal meant so much to me and it also got more people talking about my homeland paradise. So in my role as Tourism Ambassador I now get to show you around. On the website, you’ll find some personal recommendations from me along with lots of useful information.

So I invite you to take some time to find out about what makes Saint Lucia so special.

See you all soon. Take care.

Julien Alfred’s Top Tips
to Experience Saint Lucia

As Tourism Ambassador and proud Saint Lucian, Julien has given us her recommendations to make the most out of your visit to Saint Lucia.

Enjoy the healing properties of the soothing mud baths and natural hot waters at the Sulphur Springs in Soufriere.

If you want something more adrenalin fuelled and fast, try ziplining in the rainforest. Saint Lucia has three courses on the island so you can fly at speed through the trees.

A family-friendly, easy nature hike with stunning views of the Pitons is on offer at the Tet Paul Nature Trail; learn about the island’s history, local agriculture and traditional medicinal plants along the way.

For fresh produce and delicious food, visit the Farmhers’ Market. Run by the non-profit organization Helen’s Daughters to support women in agriculture, this market takes place twice a month on Saturdays at the Aquatic Center in Rodney Bay. https://www.facebook.com/helensdaughters.org/

Get a ticket for this year’s popular Jazz & Arts Festival running from April 30-May 11. The lineup sees John Legend, Beenie Man and Jazzmeia  Horn take the stage. With dedicated nights for jazz, gospel, Caribbean fusion, world beats and pop music there is something for every musical taste!

Spend an afternoon at Vigie Beach in Castries, a spot where Julien used to train as an aspiring young athlete.

Friday night is street party night, every week in Gros Islet. Locals and visitors mingle to the music of giant sound systems, freshly caught and cooked sea food and of course, plenty of rum!

Experience Lucian Carnival July 1-23 2025 for fun, sun, creativity and culture all in a stunning setting. This is the biggest event of the year for Saint Lucia so don’t miss it.

Watch the hypnotic cocoa-rina dance at Fond Doux Eco Resort. Join the guided Cocoa Heritage tour to learn about the history and process of creating organic chocolate from the estate.

Visit Saint Lucia in October and celebrate Creole Heritage month. You’ll see local communities organising activities and festivities from art exhibitions, dance performances, food and drink and social gatherings.
