Castries, October 18, 2019 – Destination Saint Lucia is looking to strategically position itself and highlight its many offerings as tourism industry representatives meet to participate in the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Conference in neighboring Puerto Rico.

Taking place from October 21-25, the high-level conference will allow industry personnel to network, share ideas, examine best practices and establish business initiatives with top level cruise executives.

Saint Lucia is fielding a diverse delegation made up of officials from the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA), Invest Saint Lucia, St. Lucia Air & Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA), Citizenship by Investment Program (CIP) and Export Saint Lucia.

“The goal this year is to present Saint Lucia as an all-encompassing package, showcasing not only developments in the cruise sector, but critically other aspects of the economy such as agricultural exports, business investment and other vital linkage industries that support the cruise sector,” noted SLTA’s Senior Marketing Manager Jackie Mathurin.

The Saint Lucia delegation, headed by Prime Minister Hon. Allen Chastanet and Tourism Minister Hon. Dominic Fedee, will seize the opportunity to update industry partners on plans to commemorate the Caribbean Equine Cultural Festival (CECF)happening December 12th &13th on Saint Lucia.

The two-day luxury lifestyle and racing entertainment event will be held at the newly commissioned Royal Saint Lucia Turf Club in the southern town of Vieux Fort and will feature the inaugural Piton Cup that boasts one of the largest horse racing prize purses to date in the Caribbean.

A highly colorful branded booth has been designed to allow FCCA attendees to view the island’s full calendar of 2020 signature events, such as Saint Lucia Jazz, Roots & Soul, Carnival, and Food & Rum, highlight the destination as a must-see for leisure and investment.
