Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium

The Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, is located at the north-eastern end of the tourist resort of Rodney Bay, approximately 6 minutes drive from the town of Gros Islet on the scenic Castries-Gros Islet Highway.

The cricket ground is known for its high standard facilities and is regarded by the West Indies Cricket Board as a standard for current and future venues in the Caribbean. Its outfield, a perfect oval, is predictably lush green. It also became the first international ground in the Caribbean to receive floodlighting with the installation of 6 floodlight towers in 2006, enabling the hosting of day/night matches. In May 2006 it hosted the first ever international Day/Night ODI match in the Caribbean when the West Indies took on Zimbabwe. Due to the unfavourable time zone differences between the Caribbean and the large cricket markets in the far east international day/night matches have been few and far between.

The facility has 18 hospitality suites, a permanent seating capacity of 13,000 with bucket-type seating which can be increased to 20,000 for international matches. There are also two artificial pitches and two turfs for practice and warm-ups.

Beausejour Indoor Practice Facility

Next to the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground is the Beausejour Indoor Practice Facility. Initially built as an indoor practice venue for the Cricket World Cup 2007, the indoor practice facility has become the home to netball, volleyball and basketball. It is equipped with a state-of-the-art electronic scoreboard and timers. It has a seating capacity of 600.

Sandals Saint Lucia Golf & Country Clubs

The Saint Lucia Golf and Country Club’s 18-hole, par-71 course, spread over the rolling hills of the Cap Estate in the north of the island, offers one of the most scenic and challenging rounds in the Caribbean. There’s also a 9-hole course with taxingly narrow fairways at Sandals La Toc Golf Resort & Spa, with green fees and transportation to the course free for guests staying at one of the island’s three Sandals properties.

National Tennis Centre

The National Tennis Centre is located in Beausejour, right next to the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground and the Indoor Facility. The National Tennis Centre boasts six courts including a stadium court. There is proposed expansion to include three additional courts. The facility also has a number of dressing rooms, a cafeteria, treatment room and an administrative block.

The facility has hosted a number of prestigious tournaments including the Eastern Caribbean Tennis Tournament and the Coca Cola ITF Junior Tennis Tournament. With the completion of the additional courts the Tennis Association has its sights set on hosting other major events including the Davis Cup.
